Lethbridge is Southern Alberta’s central town. For things to do around town check out the Visitor Information Center page or the City of Lethbridge webpage. Public transit information can be found here. For those wanting to learn something about Lethbridge and its history we recommend the Galt Museum, the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, and the Fort Whoopup Interpretive Center.

A little ways up the road we recommend the Alberta Birds of Prey Center in Coaldale (about 15 minutes East of Lethbridge),  the Fort Museum in Fort Macleod (about 45 minutes West of Lethbridge) and Writing on Stone Provincial Park (about 1.5 hours South-East of Lethbridge).

The University of Lethbridge’s First Choice Savings Center has a pool, fitness center and climbing wall. This will be very convenient for attendees who are bringing their families and staying on campus at the Lux Hotel.

SILS attendees will have an opportunity to visit Waterton Lakes National Park or Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump on Friday afternoon.
