Stabilizing Indigenous Languages Symposium is the oldest and largest gathering of Indigenous Language stakeholders in North America.

In recognition of their 25 years of investing in indigenous languages, SILS2018 is jointly organized by the Peigan Board of Education/Piikani Nation and the University of Lethbridge. It will be held in traditional Blackfoot territory at Nato’ohkotok (Medicine Rock), the University of Lethbridge. 

SILS2018 is organized with financial support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (Connections program), the Peigan Board of Education, the University of Lethbridge (Strategic Opportunities Fund), and the Foundation for Endangered Languages Canada.
